Why We Choose To Not Offer Delivery

In many areas of our busy lives, the option to have items delivered to our doorstep is one that comes with a range of advantages. However, when it comes to buying fresh fruit and vegetables, Big Watermelon believes that the disadvantages of home or office delivery far outweigh the benefits. Therefore we do not offer delivery as a service and only offer pick up from our location. Here are some of the reasons why:

• Delivery is more expensive – We’re all tightening the purse strings these days, and the delivery of your fruit and veg order simply adds extra expense you don’t need.
• You don’t get to pick the fruit you want – If we offered a delivery service, we would pick your produce for you, and while we’re certainly good at it, you know best what you want.
• It might not always arrive fresh – We service commercial and residential customers from numerous surrounding suburbs, so if we were to offer delivery, your fruit and veg may potentially not reach you fresh.

Big Watermelon is conveniently located on High Street Rd in Wantirna South. We’re open seven days a week from 7am-7pm and allow you to select your own fresh produce either to sell to your customers, make available to your employees, or use for meals at home.
